Once an artist made a sketch of Gandhiji and sent it to him to get his autograph.Returning that sketch Gandhiji wrote to the artist,"who is that ugly man you have made a model by mistake and sent this picture?"
Gandhiji used to slap the people with affection, he loved.One day Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan said to Gandjhiji,"Bapu,you slap the one you love,but you have never slapped me.This means that you donot love me".Looking at the gigantic physique of Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan,Gandhiji smiled and said,"I do love you,but i donot slap you because if you return me the same way i will be crushed"
In 1946,Gandhiji went to see Satyavathi,grand daughter of Arya Samaj leader Shraddhananda Saraswathi who was lying in her death bed.Gandhiji said to Satyavathi,"Normally in your last days you should remember Ram[Gandhiji used to refer to God as Ram always].I know that you will not say "Ram Ram" as Arya Samajists dont pronounce the name of Ram as the form of God.So when you are in pain say "Mara Mara"[ so that when it is said rapidly it gets converted into Ram Ram..]!
